Furry Friends Farm

Prologue : In April - May 2009, one of Malaysia's greatest episodes of shame came to the fore : many dogs (numbering in the hundreds) were dumped and marooned by the residents of Pulau Ketam on neighbouring isolated and uninhabited isle of Pulau Selat Kering. 

They were were betrayed and condemned to a fate worse than death : an unimaginable nightmarish fight for survival fraught with suffering of fear,  starvation, thirst, pain, illness leading to a slow lingering death:  a fate meted by the humans whom they trusted and loved unconditionally. Many didn't survive.

Epilogue : Today, these dogs, the fortunate resilient survivors rescued and given a chance of a second life by Furry Friends Farm,  have recovered from their horrifying ordeal and are a picture of health and contentment, secured in the knowledge that they have been given a second chance at life with love, security and warmth and that they no longer have to fight for their very survival . 

Though they have and/or are slowly but surely recovering from their illness and physical wounds sustained during their nightmarish ordeal on Pulau Selat Kering, it may take awhile for them to heal emotionally. Be that as it may, it is indeed gratifying to note that some of these survivors are responding positively to the efforts of Furry Friends Farm to heal and rehabilitate them. 

This is their story, this is our story : a testament to the resilience of man's best friend and what a little bit of unconditional love can do for them. They have already given so much to us, isn't it time for us to do our part for them and on their behalf?
